Real SUPPORT for real people
Victoria Child & Family Psychological Services is a group of registered psychologists who specialize in working with children, teens, young adults, and families. We provide evidence-based services in a caring and compassionate environment. Our approach is always collaborative and engaging, to empower you to make the positive changes you seek.
Our Services
Our psychologists provide a variety of services for a wide range of concerns that children, youth, and families may encounter. We focus on evidence-based treatment approaches for anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, attachment difficulties, relationship problems, and more. Many of our psychologists are also highly skilled in completing diagnostic and psycho-educational assessments. We are also available to provide tailored consultation and coaching for parents and allied professionals, as well as community workshops on a variety of relevant topics.
Given the ever-evolving situation with COVID-19, we have continued offering telehealth services (video and/or telephone sessions) and in-person services at our clinic. Outlined in the document below are the measures we have put in place to ensure everyone's safety. If you have been scheduled for an in-person session, please familiarize yourself with these measures before your appointment. We care about you very much and we are here to help.

Office Safety Precautions in Effect During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Our office is taking the following precautions to protect our clients and help slow the spread of the coronavirus:
Thank you for your cooperation with these safety measures!
VCFPS Team
- We ask all patients to wait in their cars or outside until no earlier than 5 minutes before their appointment times to minimize contact between families arriving/departing the clinic. The main clinic door will be locked until 5 minutes before your appointment time.
- Office seating in the waiting room and in therapy/testing rooms has been arranged so that appropriate physical distancing can be maintained.
- Psychologists are maintaining safe physical distances from clients and each other.
- Psychologists will wear masks when physical distancing cannot be maintained, and will provide a mask for you/your child to wear if you do not have one (when developmentally appropriate based on the age of the child).
- Washroom soap dispensers are maintained and everyone is required to wash their hands upon entering the clinic. Psychologists are also washing their hands in-between each client session.
- Hand sanitizer that contains 80% alcohol is available in all therapy/testing rooms, the waiting room, and at the reception counter.
- Appointments have been scheduled at specific intervals to minimize the number of people in the waiting room and at the reception counter whenever possible.
- Waiting room chairs, table/counter surfaces, credit card machines, door knobs, pens and other areas/items that are commonly touched are thoroughly sanitized after each use.
- Posters have been placed in the clinic to remind everyone of appropriate physical distancing requirements, covering of coughs/sneezes, hand-hygiene measures, and correct mask usage.
- Tissues and waste bins are easily accessed in all rooms. Waste bins are emptied on a frequent basis.
- Non-essential items, such as magazines, books, toys, art supplies, and cushions have been reduced in the waiting room and all offices. When any such materials are required for the service you or your child will be receiving, they will be pre-selected by your psychologist for use during your session only, and will be thoroughly sanitized after each use.
- All common areas and surfaces are thoroughly disinfected at the end of each day.
Thank you for your cooperation with these safety measures!
